RMSF – Rubber Men of San Francisco
The San Francisco BDSM Community Embraces The Resurrection of A Rubber Fetish Club

Not long ago the San Francisco Leathermen’s Discussion Group hosted a panel to answer the basic question “Is Leather Dead? Does It Need To Die?”.  How fitting is it that at the same time the Rubber Men of San Francisco (RMSF) was about to be reborn!

It might seem to some  that it’s a no brainer that San Francisco’s original Folsom Street Fair and world famous would have a strong rubber community. Sadly that was not the case when Seven Mitchell landed in town and went to work as a latex designer at Mr S in the fall of 2010.  Seven decided to take action and sent a call out to all the rubbermen in the San Francisco Bay area to come out and unite to form a club of queer rubberists that could share their fetish openly.  When he learned that San Francisco actually had a rubber club in place his plan shifted to tap that resource and see what would happen.  Seven was just the spark that RMSF needed!

Starting with the annual rubber themed party at the Powerhouse Nightclub, RMSF has gone from a club that was assumed dead, to a respected fetish club worthy of it’s name. By the time The 2011 Folsom Street Fair rolled around RMSF had been featured at the Edge Nightclub during their regular Fetish Friday party and was part of the line-up for the LDG Fetish Fair during Leatherweek.  Club organizers were encouraged by feedback from organizations like Rubber Zone, Mr International Rubber and Rubbout in Canada.  Title holders from rubber clubs on both coasts were contacting RMSF to say that they were coming to the annual Folsom rubber party at the Powerhouse.  Richard Nordin (Mr New England Rubber) signed up to help with the party while he was in town, and Reid Delgleish (Mr West Coast Rubber) lent the use of his image for the posters to promote the event.

Along with the support of other rubberists from all over, RMSF also has the support of some amazing sponsors.  The club is backed by a lineup of independently owned fetish businesses including; Mr S, SeriousMaleBondage.com, Skin Tight Rubber, 9×6 Lube and RubberZone.com.  The club considers the sponsors more than just business associates they are part of the club and the members take an active roll in promoting and in some cases creating products with the sponsors.

RMSF believes that a strong fetish community is member driven and has no room for personal agendas.  Every member and sponsor of the group has an equal voice in the direction of the club and the mission is based on a group conscience: This group is dedicated to strengthening the rubberist community in San Francisco. Its primary focus will be planning and hosting gatherings and play parties for SF rubberists. This group welcomes male-identified individuals of all ages and experience levels. Plans for the future of RMSF include working with other clubs in the leather community to support each other and foster brotherhood and……… lots and lots of kink!
